Frequently Asked Questions
Should I add on session time?
The 25-minute base session is a great option if you aren’t looking to make the investment of a longer session, but still want beautiful images of your family. If you’re able to invest in the longer session, I do recommend it. Some clients express concern that their families may not last for a longer session, but it actually gives you more time to warm up in front of the camera, giving us more opportunity for real connections and moments. It also gives us more variety of shots with more time to explore different areas to shoot at. And it gives us the opportunity to capture different lighting scenarios as the sun sets. However, with that said, for clients who are looking for a smaller investment and feel comfortable with the shorter session, the base session is a great option and we’ll still capture beautiful family moments.
Will I be selecting my included images?
Absolutely! You will receive an online proofing gallery to view all the images from session. From this gallery, you’ll select your images, and can opt to add additional images, or to purchase the entire gallery.
How will I receive my selected images and can I get prints made?
The final selected images are delivered in online gallery as downloadable high-resolution digital files with print rights, and can be shared with friends or family. You can have prints made on your own if you have a good lab, or you can order through the online gallery. I do recommend ordering through the gallery to ensure accurate color and quality. Prices start at $1 per 4x6. The gallery stays online for 10 years, so you can revisit it to view images, download, order prints, etc.
What is the multi-family session fee?
This fee applies if we are photographing multiple families within the same session. It does not apply if you are including grandparents in your family session.
Is pricing the same for a newborn session?
Yes, but with newborn sessions, I definitely recommend adding on the additional time. These are slower-paced and tend to require a lot of breaks for calming. When you add the extended time, if we go a little over, that’s ok, and is not an additional fee. Newborn sessions are usually done within the first 10 days of baby’s birth, and usually shot in the client’s home, using areas like the parents’ bed, baby’s nursery, windows in the home, or other areas with pretty light. The baby is often photographed in the parent’s arms, with siblings/pets, etc. These are very authentic and natural sessions.
